Dolmens Of Gelendzhik

This type of dolmen is typical for the Western Caucasus. Much less often here there are dolmens compound where one or more plates composed of smaller blocks. Dolmens Of The Caucasus

The average size of the dolmens: 2 m wide, 2 m high and 3 m in length. The hole diameter is about 40 cm the Weight of each of the plates 3 to 8 tons, the weight of the tube is about 100 kg. Archaeologists estimate the start of construction of some Caucasian dolmens, as of the end of the third Millennium BC. This means that the dolmens of the ancient pyramids! They carry them to the funeral constructions, because they find in them the remains of grave sites.
